Jungfrau, Mountain peak in Switzerland
Jungfrau is one of the main summits of the Bernese Alps.
It was first ascended in 1811 by the Meyer brothers from Aarau.
The name 'Jungfrau' translates to 'maiden' or 'virgin' in German.
The Jungfraubahn railway leads to the Jungfraujoch, the highest train station in Europe.
Jungfrau is part of a UNESCO World Heritage site known as the Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch.
