Lenzburg, Historic municipality in Aargau, Switzerland
Lenzburg spans across the Seetal valley at an elevation of 407 meters, with its castle perched 100 meters above the town center.
The settlement first appeared in written records in 924 as 'de Lencis' and became the residence of the Count of Lenzburg by 1036.
The medieval town center contains nine locations designated as Swiss heritage sites, including the town church constructed in 1667.
The municipality serves as a transportation hub with regular train connections to major Swiss cities and provides services for 11,024 residents.
The former cotton processing center transformed from an agricultural settlement into an industrial center after the railway arrival in 1874.
