Zwingli house

The wooden two-story house contains a living area, kitchen, parlor, side room on ground floor and two bedrooms on upper level.

The grandfather of reformer Ulrich Zwingli constructed this house in the mid-15th century, which later served as a schoolhouse during the 19th century.

The Late Gothic carved beam ceiling in the parlor reflects the architectural craftsmanship of the period and regional building traditions.

The Reformed Church of Canton St. Gallen maintains the house as a museum, offering guided tours and informational brochures to visitors.

The house features an original poor box from the Grossmünster church in Zurich and preserves a traditional open fireplace in the kitchen.
