Drahtseilbahn Unterwasser–Iltios

The Drahtseilbahn Unterwasser-Iltios is a cable car in the Toggenburg valley that connects two stations at different elevations. It operates two carriages with seating for roughly 100 passengers each, traveling along an inclined track of about 1200 meters.

The cable car began service in 1934 and became an important link for the region. A major renovation took place in 2005 when significant technical improvements were made.

The cable car links two locations within a popular winter sports region, serving as a connection point between different ski areas. Visitors use it to access various slopes and maintain a flow between mountain sections.

Access to the cable car is straightforward from Unterwasser, and the ride takes just a few minutes. It operates year-round with steady service, allowing visitors to travel up at various times.
