Alte Börse

The Alte Börse is a building with a distinctive cylindrical corner and horizontal window bands, constructed between 1928 and 1930 by architects Henauer and Witschi. Its interior now contains office spaces, restaurants, and retail areas that are open to the public.

The building was constructed from 1928 to 1930 and served as the center of Swiss securities trading until 1992. Its existence reflects Zurich's growth as a financial hub during the interwar period.

The ground floor reveals how finance and modern design once connected here, with spaces now serving as shopping and dining destinations for the public. Today the building functions as a gathering place while maintaining its original architectural character.

Marcel Breuer, a leading figure of modernism, designed display rooms for Wohnbedarf AG on the ground floor in 1932. This collaboration shows how innovative design concepts entered the world of financial institutions.
