Museum Bärengasse, Historical museum in City district, Zürich, Switzerland.
The Museum Bärengasse consists of two connected four-story buildings from the 17th century, the Schanzenhof and Zur Weltkugel structures.
The buildings were relocated 65 meters from their original location on Talstrasse in the 1970s to preserve them from urban development projects.
From 1976 to 2008, the institution operated as part of the Swiss National Museum, displaying exhibitions about residential culture and special collections.
The museum now houses the Young Literature Laboratory on the ground and first floors, while the Adult Education Center occupies the remaining levels.
The ground floor features a performance hall and permanent reading stage combined with a public foyer for literary and cultural gatherings.
