Palais de Beaulieu, Convention center in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Palais de Beaulieu is a large convention and events center in Lausanne, canton of Vaud, made up of a theater, exhibition halls, and conference rooms. The different buildings of the complex can be arranged to suit many types of events, from trade fairs to concerts and congresses.
The complex was built in the 1920s and first served mainly as an exhibition ground. During World War II it was briefly used as a prisoner camp, before eventually becoming the convention and events center it is today.
The theater inside the complex is best known for hosting the Prix de Lausanne, a yearly competition for young classical ballet dancers that draws an international audience. During that week, the building fills with dancers, teachers, and spectators from many countries.
Palais de Beaulieu sits north of central Lausanne and is easy to reach by public transport. Parking is available on site for those arriving by car, and the complex has several entrances that make it straightforward to find the right area for your event.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport, which settles legal disputes in international athletics, has its seat inside the complex. Many visitors attending a concert or a fair have no idea that cases affecting world sport are being handled in the same building.
