Patinoire de Malley is an indoor facility in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland, with two separate ice surfaces. The two surfaces can be reconfigured depending on what is scheduled, serving as skating areas or as open halls for other types of events.
The facility opened in 1984 as a joint project between three neighboring municipalities in the Lausanne area. Over time, new rooms and spaces were added to expand what the venue could offer.
The facility hosts a wide variety of events including professional hockey matches, figure skating competitions, concerts, and contemporary ballet performances. Visitors experience both athletic competitions and artistic productions in the same space.
The arena was demolished in April 2017, so there is no venue to visit at the original site; the replacement Vaudoise aréna opened nearby in September 2019. During the two seasons in between, Lausanne HC played in a temporary rink, Malley 2.0, 96 m long, 66 m wide and 17 m high, with 6,700 seats.
The guest sector of the old arena was likened to a prison by critics, and the press nicknamed the stadium the Swiss Guantanamo. The arena also hosted the 1997 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships and the 1990 and 2008 European men's championships.
