Reichenbachfall railway, Funicular railway in Schattenhalb, Switzerland.

The Reichenbachfall railway stretches along the waterfall with a 120-meter drop, featuring traditional wooden carriages that transport visitors to three viewing terraces.

Engineers constructed this mountain railway in 1899, establishing a transportation route that connects the valley with the upper section of Reichenbach Falls.

The railway forms part of an architectural complex that includes a hydroelectric power station, recognized as a Class A Swiss cultural property.

The funicular operates between May and October, with return tickets costing 12 Swiss francs for adults and 8 Swiss francs for children.

At the summit station, visitors observe the exact location where fictional character Sherlock Holmes confronted Professor Moriarty in their final encounter.
