Dent de Ruth

Dent de Ruth is a mountain summit in the Bernese Alps that stands at 2,236 meters high. The peak sits at the intersection where three cantons meet, making it a significant point in the regional landscape.

The mountain became a boundary marker when Switzerland's cantonal borders were formally established in the 19th century. Its location at the meeting point of three cantons made it a natural reference for administrative divisions.

Local mountaineering clubs maintain several hiking routes to the summit, reflecting the Swiss dedication to preserving mountain access and outdoor traditions.

You can reach the summit via several hiking routes that connect to the mountain shelter known as Grubenberghutte. Weather conditions can change quickly at this elevation, so proper gear and mountain experience are important for any visit.

The summit features a distinctive saddle point to its west and stands 944 meters of isolation from its nearest higher neighbor. This separation makes it a standalone peak that stands out along the Alpine ridge.
