Gondelbahn Rellerli, Cable car in Schönried, Switzerland.
Gondelbahn Rellerli was a cable car system that connected the village of Schönried to the Rellerligrat ridge, bridging a vertical rise of roughly 600 meters. The lower station sat at approximately 1240 meters elevation, with the upper station positioned at about 1830 meters.
The cable car operated in the Gstaad region and ceased functioning in January 2019 when its operating license expired. The end of the license validity marked the closure of this mountain transport link.
The Friends of Rellerli association continues local efforts to maintain public access to this mountain location, representing community values in the Swiss Alps.
The system could transport up to 1200 passengers per hour, providing a comfortable ride up the mountain. The facility was equipped with modern cable car technology and offered efficient access to the alpine area.
The cable car featured a distinctive wave-shaped curve support structure, with horizontally mounted drive and tension pulleys, rare for Habegger manufacturer models.
