Le Rubli

Le Rubli is a mountain summit in the western Bernese Alps that rises to 2,285 meters and features steep rock walls. The slopes display varied geological formations that shape the character of the peak.

The mountain was included early in the development of hiking routes across the Swiss Alps. Local paths connected communities and enabled travel across the mountain passes.

Local mountaineering clubs organize regular group ascents of Le Rubli, maintaining traditional climbing practices and documenting new routes.

Access to the summit is via a via ferrata that begins near the Videmanette gondola station at 2,160 meters elevation. Proper hiking boots and a head for heights are needed for this route.

On the western edge of the peak, climbers encounter a distinctive rock formation that resembles natural steps. This stair-like feature guides the final approach to the summit.
