Former Benedictine monastery Muri, Benedictine monastery in Muri, Switzerland.

The monastery complex features a central church with five organs and extends over an area of 250 by 200 meters.

Founded in 1027 by Ita of Lorraine and Count Radbot of Habsburg, the monastery became the richest abbey in Switzerland during the 17th century.

The monastery church combines elements of Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque architecture, with the Loreto Chapel serving as a burial place for Habsburg dynasty members.

The former monastery now functions as a regional cultural center, offering regular organ concerts and educational programs throughout the year.

The monastery maintained a dual-monastery system for over a century until the Benedictine nunnery of Hermetschwil separated in the early 13th century.
