Brambrüesch is a mountain sports area in Graubunden featuring ski slopes and hiking trails on a high plateau at around 2000 meters elevation. The region also offers sledding runs and is accessible by cable car from the city of Chur.
The Chur-Brambrüesch cable car system was developed to make this alpine region easily accessible from the city below. This transformation turned the high plateau into a popular recreation area for locals and visitors.
Mountain restaurants scattered across the area serve traditional Swiss alpine dishes while offering views over the Schanfigg Valley and Rhine Valley below. Visitors can enjoy local specialties like fondue and capuns in cozy surroundings.
Access is by train to Chur station followed by city bus line 1 to the valley station of the mountain railway. In winter you should be prepared for alpine conditions and wear appropriate footwear.
The area features a dedicated snowshoe arena at Dreibundenstein with circular trails connecting to nearby villages. These paths offer a different experience compared to the traditional ski slopes.
