Hannig, Aerial lift in Saas-Fee, Switzerland.
Hannig is a modern aerial lift system in Saas-Fee that connects the valley floor to the mountainside above. The ride covers a change in elevation of around 500 meters in just a few minutes.
The original lift began operating in 1969 and served visitors for over 50 years. A brand new system replaced it in 2024 to meet contemporary needs.
The lift has been a key meeting point for residents and visitors seeking mountain exploration for many years. It allows people of all ages to reach higher elevations easily and discover the surroundings.
The cabins hold up to 10 people comfortably and have plenty of space for strollers and people with mobility challenges. The ride is straightforward, and both stations are clearly marked and easy to locate.
The new gondolas feature panoramic windows that let you see the surrounding peaks and glaciers during the ride. This detail makes the journey into much more than just transportation.
