The Altberg Observation Tower extends 34.52 meters into the sky, featuring four landing platforms and 147 steps leading to the observation deck.
The tower construction was completed in 2010 with a budget of 660,000 Swiss Francs, funded through donations from municipalities, companies, and local residents.
Four panoramic boards at the observation platform help visitors identify surrounding villages, mountains, and landmarks throughout the Swiss landscape.
The tower requires a 30 to 45 minute walk from nearby parking areas and includes the Waldschenke Altberg restaurant next to it for refreshments.
From the tower platform, visitors can see the peaks of the Alps from Säntis to Doldenhorn, along with views of Zurich and numerous surrounding communities.
