Flade, Catholic secondary school in St. Gallen, Switzerland
The educational institution consists of three buildings: Kloster, Gallus, and Notker, providing secondary education in the center of St. Gallen.
Founded in 1809 as 'Gymnasium katholischer Fundation', the school continues the educational legacy of the former St. Gallen monastery school.
The institution maintains separate learning spaces for boys and girls at Buebe- and Meitleflade, while offering mixed classes at Notkerschulhaus.
The school accepts thirty percent of sixth-grade students from St. Gallen city, following the cantonal curriculum for secondary education.
The name 'Flade' originates from a plate-shaped cap that students wore as part of their uniform until 1859.
