Kronenhalle

Kronenhalle is an Art Deco restaurant in central Zurich with three separate dining rooms that each have their own character and decoration. The spaces are called the Brasserie, the Chagall Room, and the Swiss Gallery, and serve both Swiss and French cuisine.

Founded in 1924, the restaurant began with the idea of offering meals to artists in exchange for their artworks. This practice continued and resulted in the large collection of paintings and sculptures now displayed throughout the space.

The artworks on display came from artists who dined here over the decades and left their creations behind. Visitors can see and experience these paintings and sculptures directly while eating, making the space feel like a living gallery.

The restaurant is located on Rämistrasse in the center of town and operates daily for both lunch and dinner service. Guests should know that this popular spot gets busy during peak hours, so booking ahead is advisable.
