Martha and Daniel Gantenbein founded the estate in 1982, focusing from the start on Burgundy grape varieties in the Grisons Rhine Valley. Their foundation established a wine operation that combines traditional cultivation methods with modern infrastructure.

The estate produces wines through gravity-based methods without pumps or filters, maintaining traditional practices while incorporating modern architectural elements.

Visitors can explore the estate and admire the unusual brick architecture that defines the building's character. The location in the hilly wine region is easy to reach and offers views across the surrounding vineyards.

The perforated brick wall functions as a natural cooling system, regulating temperature through its specialized pattern without mechanical devices. This passive cooling system demonstrates how modern design employs traditional principles of airflow.
