The 205-meter-tall Roche Tower 2 contains 50 floors and stands as the highest building in Switzerland since its opening in September 2022.
The construction of Roche Tower 2 commenced in 2018 with a budget of 550 million Swiss francs, marking a major expansion of the Roche pharmaceutical headquarters.
The architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron designed this building to complement the existing Roche Tower 1, creating a balanced composition in Basel's Rhine riverside.
The building provides workspace for 1,700 employees and incorporates reinforced concrete pillars with steel structures to ensure stability during seismic activities.
The building features an advanced earthquake resistance system, engineered to withstand tremors reaching 6.9 on the moment magnitude scale.
