Waldwipfelpfad Laax, Canopy walkway in Laax, Switzerland
Waldwipfelpfad Laax is an elevated wooden pathway stretching 1.56 kilometers through a forest between two village districts at heights from 5 to 13 meters. A 37-meter entrance tower with elevator access connects the walkway to ground level and allows everyone to reach it.
The pathway opened in 2021 following a major construction project in the region. It replaced another famous similar structure from a different area and quickly became a popular destination.
The walkway displays information about trees, animals, and local nature in German, English, and Romansh languages. Visitors discover the forest around them as they move through the canopy.
The pathway is open year-round and accessible via elevator for wheelchairs and strollers. When wet, wear sturdy shoes as the wooden surface becomes slippery.
The pathway ends in a tower featuring a 73-meter spiral slide that carries visitors down in a single ride. Along the route are several play stations and viewing platforms that allow visitors to stop and explore.
