Wuhan Greenland Center, Skyscraper in Wuhan, China
Wuhan Greenland Center is a tall tower in downtown Wuhan with 97 stories above ground and 6 levels below. The building houses office spaces, hotel rooms, residential units, and includes 84 elevators to move people through its many floors.
Construction started in 2012 and finished in 2022 after the project went through several design changes. The building underwent modifications to meet local requirements before reaching its final form.
The building represents the rapid urbanization of central China, incorporating modern architectural elements while maintaining local building traditions.
The building has parking available in its underground levels for visitors and residents. Multiple elevators throughout the structure make it easy to move between the many floors and different areas.
The original plans called for a significantly taller structure, but aviation rules required the design to be adjusted downward. This change shows how regulations can shape the final look of modern city towers.
