Yueyang Tower, Ancient tower in China
The Yueyang Tower is a famous ancient Chinese tower in Yueyang, Hunan Province, on the shore of Lake Dongting.
Originally built during the Tang Dynasty in 716 AD, the tower has been destroyed and rebuilt several times throughout history.
The tower is known for its association with the poem 'On the Yueyang Tower' by Song Dynasty poet Fan Zhongyan.
Today, it serves as a popular tourist attraction offering panoramic views of Lake Dongting.
Unlike many other ancient towers in China, Yueyang Tower is not built on a hill or mountain, but on the flat lakeside.
