Id Kah Mosque

Id Kah Mosque spans across 16,800 square meters with a central courtyard filled with poplar trees, pines, and a reflecting pond at its center.

Founded in 1442 by Saqsiz Mirza, King of ancient Kashgar, the mosque underwent major expansions in 1538, 1798, 1809, and 1872 to reach its current dimensions.

The prayer hall features light blue pillars with detailed carvings, while the brick gate tower displays green flower patterns representing regional Islamic artistry.

The mosque welcomes visitors from 08:50 to 10:00 daily with an entrance fee of 20 yuan, and can be reached by public buses 77 and 13.

Every Friday, the mosque accommodates up to 20,000 worshippers, making it the largest Islamic gathering place in China.
