Marble Boat, monument in China
The Marble Boat, also known as the Boat of Purity and Ease, is a pavilion styled structure in the Summer Palace in Beijing.
The original boat was built in 1755 under Emperor Qianlong but was destroyed during the Second Opium War in 1860.
It represents the stability and endurance of the Qing dynasty.
This tourist attraction is located by the Kunming Lake and can be toured as part of a visit to the Summer Palace.
Despite its name Marble Boat, it is not an actual boat and cannot float.
