Songshan National Nature Reserve, Beijing

The reserve features extensive mountains, rivers, and forests spread across multiple landscapes, providing habitats for numerous plant and animal species.

Established in April 1985, this protected area became the first national nature reserve in Beijing municipality, marking a milestone in local conservation.

The reserve incorporates educational programs teaching visitors about environmental protection while maintaining traditional Chinese approaches to nature conservation.

Located 90 kilometers from downtown Beijing, the reserve offers marked pathways through ten different scenic spots with an entrance fee of 50 RMB.

Mount Hai Tuo within the reserve stands at 2,199.6 meters, making it the second highest peak in the Beijing region.
