Anzhen Castle

Anzhen Castle is a large fortress complex in Yong'an built with thick earthen walls and a compact floor plan. The structure contains numerous living spaces, cooking areas, and water storage facilities that were essential for daily life within its walls.

Construction of this fortress began in 1885 during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty as an ambitious undertaking for its era. The project developed during a time when such defensive structures protected entire communities from external threats.
