南溪书院

Nanxi Academy is a historical educational institution in Fujian featuring traditional Chinese buildings arranged around courtyards and gardens. The site includes several halls used for teaching and study, with covered walkways connecting the different sections.

The academy was founded during the Song and Yuan dynasties and grew into an important center for advanced learning. Over centuries it drew students because of its location along a major trade route that encouraged the exchange of knowledge.

Regular calligraphy sessions are held here where visitors can learn to write traditional Chinese characters with guidance from skilled practitioners. The techniques demonstrated trace back through many generations of masters in the Fujian region.
