Jian'ou Dongyue Temple

Jian'ou Dongyue Temple is a Taoist complex spread across a large site containing multiple halls, pavilions, and courtyards. The prominent Feiyun Tower rises along the central axis and serves as a focal point for the entire layout.

The temple was founded during the Tang Dynasty more than 1400 years ago and has remained at this location since its establishment. It later received recognition as a nationally protected cultural heritage site.

The Main Hall honors the Eastern Mountain Emperor, a central figure in Taoist belief who oversees the cycles of life and death. Visitors can see statues and carvings throughout the temple that reflect these spiritual traditions.

The temple is located on Feiyun West Road and is open to visitors year-round. Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress modestly when exploring the various halls and courtyards throughout the complex.

The Feiyun Tower was built without metal nails and instead uses traditional wooden joinery techniques to hold its structure together. This ancient construction method remains visible and represents remarkable craftsmanship from centuries past.
