Sheraton Huzhou Hot Spring Resort, Modern hotel and skyscraper in Huzhou, China
Sheraton Huzhou Hot Spring Resort is a ring-shaped skyscraper with 27 floors reaching 102 meters high near Taihu Lake. The building contains multiple restaurants, conference spaces, and extensive spa facilities with direct access to natural hot springs.
Architect Ma Yansong completed this project in 2013, establishing new standards for luxury resorts in the Taihu Lake region. The building marked a turning point in how contemporary hospitality facilities were designed in this area.
The circular design reflects Chinese architectural traditions while creating a modern structure that complements the natural landscape. The water-facing position shows how contemporary building methods respect local principles of harmony with nature.
The resort provides direct access to natural hot springs and multiple swimming pools with specialized treatment rooms for wellness experiences. Guests can enjoy facilities designed specifically around the thermal resources available in this region.
The ring-shaped structure creates an optical effect when reflected in Taihu Lake waters, making the building appear to form a complete circle. This reflection phenomenon is especially visible at different times of day and light conditions.
