People's Park

People's Park is an urban park in central Nanning featuring White Dragon Lake at its center, with a small island connected to the mainland by two bridges. The lake and surrounding green spaces offer various areas for walking and spending time outdoors.

White Dragon Lake received its name during the Southern Song dynasty when General Di Qing observed white sheep in the water that resembled a dragon. The name has endured through the centuries and remains part of the location's local history.

The Revolutionary Martyrs Monument in the northeast section is surrounded by pine and cypress trees, creating a contemplative space for visitors. These trees hold special meaning for people who come to remember the past in this location.

The park is free to visit daily and offers numerous outdoor activity options, from leisurely walks to social gatherings in different areas. You can easily explore various sections and paths depending on your interests and pace.

Wangxian Hill, the highest point in downtown Nanning, is reached by 141 stone steps leading to an old fortification built in 1917 by a warlord. This historical site offers views over the city and reveals a lesser-known layer of local history.
