Shikengkong

Shikengkong is the highest mountain in Guangdong Province, rising to 1,902 meters above sea level within the Nanling Mountains. The peak sits inside a protected forest park where slopes drop steeply and streams cascade down the terrain.

For centuries, the mountain served as a natural boundary dividing Guangdong and Hunan provinces, helping people navigate the region. This geographical line shaped how the surrounding areas developed and connected.

The peak lies within Nanling National Forest Park, where local communities maintain traditional practices of forest preservation and mountain reverence.

Two routes lead to the summit, with the northern path offering better road conditions for vehicles and hikers. The trails through the forest can become slippery after rain, so sturdy footwear helps.

The slopes hide multiple waterfalls and narrow slot canyons that form natural water channels throughout the area. These hidden formations reveal the power of flowing water that has carved the landscape over thousands of years.
