Jeskyně Kostelík, Natural cave in Habrůvka, Czech Republic
Jeskyně Kostelík is a natural cave near Habrůvka with a length of about 31 meters and ceiling heights reaching up to 8 meters. The interior consists of a main corridor with several side passages and natural light openings in the rock walls.
During prehistoric times this cave served as shelter for hunting groups roaming the region. Later it became a popular destination for early tourists and explorers during the 1800s.
Rudolf Těsnohlídka, creator of the fox Bystrouška fable, selected this location as one of his preferred writing spots in the region.
The cave is located about 500 meters from the neighboring site along an easy-to-follow blue-marked hiking trail. Parking spaces are available at the trailhead for visitors arriving by car.
The interior structure includes a high dome chamber with ceiling openings that allow natural light to illuminate the entire cave system.
