Beck's is a brewery in Bremen on the banks of the Weser with large brewing halls and modern filling lines. Copper kettles stand next to long conveyor belts where thousands of bottles are processed every day.
Heinrich Beck and Lüder Rutenberg founded the brewery in 1873 under the name Kaiserbrauerei Beck & May. They started exporting abroad early on and brought their beer to many countries.
The company places Bremen's city key symbol on every oval label, showing its roots in the Hanseatic town. You can spot this sign on bottles and building walls throughout the site.
Tours through the production halls run from Monday to Saturday and show the process from raw materials to the finished bottle. At the end, visitors can sample several types of beer.
The site has its own rail network where wagons deliver raw materials and remove finished pallets. The tracks connect all major buildings together.
