Schloss Eicks, Renaissance château in Mechernich, Germany

The castle consists of a three-winged structure and a separate manor house, both encircled by a water-filled moat in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Originally built in the 14th century, the castle was destroyed in 1365 and rebuilt in 1680 by Hermann Dietrich von Syberg using salvageable medieval elements.

The Syberg family has maintained ownership of the castle for over five centuries, preserving its architectural heritage and Renaissance characteristics.

While the castle remains private property, sections of the estate can be reserved for special events and celebrations throughout the year.

The annual Country Homes garden festival, starting on Corpus Christi, presents the castle's geometric gardens with their structured pathways and boxwood borders.
