A-Trane, Jazz club in Charlottenburg, Germany
A-Trane is a jazz club located on Bleibtreustrasse 1 in Berlin's Charlottenburg district. It features live performances on a small stage each night for up to 100 guests.
The club opened in late 1992 and has since become an established part of Berlin's jazz scene. Management passed to former designer Sedal Sardan in 1997, who continues to lead it today.
The club's name references saxophonist John Coltrane and Duke Ellington's composition 'Take the A-Train'. This naming brings together two significant moments in jazz history.
The club opens around 9 PM each evening and serves drinks throughout the night. Visitors should expect a compact space that creates an intimate setting for performances.
Saturday nights feature spontaneous jam sessions after the regular show ends. These extended sessions give local musicians a chance to improvise together.
