Kirche Zur Frohen Botschaft, Protestant church in Karlshorst, Germany
The 56-meter-high tower with a copper-covered spire marks this church building, which features a large central nave and suspended dome vaults.
The church construction began in 1909 under architects Peter Jürgensen and Jürgen Bachmann, leading to its inauguration on May 7, 1910.
Between 1945 and 1955, the Soviet Army used the church as a storage facility and horse stable before returning it to the congregation.
The church serves as the center of the southern parish district of Paul-Gerhardt congregation, with community rooms and parish offices.
The church houses Berlin's oldest preserved original organ from 1755, originally built by Johann Peter Migend for Princess Anna Amalia of Prussia.
