Alpincenter Bottrop, Indoor ski slope in Bottrop, Germany
The Alpincenter features a 640-meter-long indoor ski slope covered with 40 centimeters of snow, making it the longest indoor ski run worldwide.
The facility opened its doors on January 7, 2001, following an investment of 50 million euros and later expanded under Van der Valk Group management in 2004.
The transformation of this former industrial site into a winter sports center represents the evolution of the Ruhr region from mining to recreational activities.
The complex includes a ski school, equipment rental services, and instructors who provide lessons for beginners through advanced skiers throughout the year.
The facility generates power through 18,600 solar modules covering 13,400 square meters of roof space, producing 1.5 megawatts of electricity.
