Walhalla memorial, Memorial in Germany
Walhalla is a memorial located in Donaustauf, Germany.
It was commissioned by Ludwig I of Bavaria in 1842 to honor distinguished people in German history.
The memorial's design was inspired by the Parthenon in Athens.
Visitors can view over 65 plaques and 130 busts of significant figures.
Despite its name, Walhalla has no relation to the Norse mythology concept.
