The St. Theresia Church features brick walls in Dutch Renaissance style with articulated side walls and a gabled front carrying a roof turret.
Following the flood of 1634, Duke Frederick III issued a decree in 1652 that brought Dutch Catholic experts to rebuild the submerged island of Strand.
The interior displays Renaissance elements with a 17th-century altarpiece depicting the crucifixion of Christ in understated architectural forms.
Sunday services begin at 10:00, and the church remains open during daylight hours, serving approximately 350 members across Schleswig-Holstein.
The church appeared in the 1970 film 'Der Pfarrer von St. Pauli' starring Curd Jürgens.
