Altes Rathaus, Renaissance town hall in Mitte district, Wiesbaden, Germany
The Altes Rathaus exhibits elaborate stone decorations on its facade, featuring carved details and symmetrical windows arranged across multiple levels.
Built between 1608 and 1610, this Renaissance building underwent modifications in 1828 with the addition of a historical floor and reconstruction after World War II.
The building's original wooden reliefs depicting virtues of strength, justice, charity, prudence, and moderation are now preserved in the Wiesbaden Museum.
The Altes Rathaus continues to function as municipal offices, maintaining its role as an administrative center in the heart of Wiesbaden.
The building incorporates thermal water from Wiesbaden's springs into its heating system, connecting architecture with natural resources.
