Fernmeldeturm Nürnberg

The Fernmeldeturm Nuremberg rises approximately 293 meters high and is constructed from reinforced concrete with a distinctive shape. The egg-shaped chamber at about 185 meters height contains transmission equipment and technical installations for ongoing operations.

Construction of this concrete structure took place between 1977 and 1980 under the direction of architect Erwin Heinle. Its completion reflected a modern design approach that mirrored the communication technology of that era.

In 2003, the tower used a wire antenna that stretched from its peak to a nearby building for specific broadcasts. This was a temporary setup employed for only a short period during that year.
