Nuremberg Transport Museum, Railway museum in Nuremberg, Germany
The museum contains historical railway vehicles, including steam locomotives, royal trains, and an extensive collection of 160 scale models spread across 1000 square meters.
Established in 1899 as the Royal Bavarian Railway Museum, this institution stands as Germany's first railway museum and one of Europe's earliest technical history museums.
The museum preserves the Nordgau locomotive from 1853, representing Germany's oldest steam engine in its original condition, demonstrating early industrial engineering achievements.
The facility maintains a specialized library of 40,000 railway-related titles, available for consultation on workdays through advance appointments at no additional cost.
The museum houses sections of King Ludwig II's royal train and features model trains crafted by Royal Bavarian State Railways apprentices beginning in 1882.
