Bad Freienwalde

Bad Freienwalde is a spa town situated on a branch of the Alte Oder river and features mineral springs alongside wellness facilities. Traditional German architecture spreads through the urban layout, with different neighborhoods each contributing to the overall character.

The settlement was first recorded as Vrienwalde in 1316 and received town status in 1364. The turning point came with the discovery of mineral springs in 1683, which transformed it into a spa destination.
