Adlerhorst, Military command bunker in Langenhain-Ziegenberg, Germany.
Adlerhorst is a military command center near Langenhain-Ziegenberg that consists of several interconnected underground bunkers. The facility spread across several hectares in the forested hills of the Taunus region and included residential buildings, command rooms, and supply facilities.
Construction began in 1939 under the direction of Albert Speer, and the facility was primarily used between 1944 and 1945. It served as a command center for military operations during those final war years.
The compound was disguised as a private estate and used local building styles to blend into the forest landscape. Visitors can still see today how the structures were designed to look like ordinary homes of the region.
The remains are located between two districts in Hesse and can only be visited on organized tours. Before visiting, check current access rules, as not all areas are open to the public.
A secret situation room in House 2 codenamed Cassino was connected to a nearby castle through an underground corridor disguised as a brick wall. This hidden link allowed covert movement between the two locations during wartime.
