Arbeitsstelle Schacht, Economic planning organization in Berlin, Germany.
Arbeitsstelle Schacht was an economic planning organization with offices at Schöneberger Ufer 39 in Berlin. The organization focused on developing economic programs and strategies to shape German economic policy.
Arbeitsstelle Schacht was founded in June 1932 by banker Hjalmar Schacht. It emerged as one of several competing institutions developing economic concepts for the country's political future.
The organization received funding from industrialists and bankers who contributed 3000 Reichsmarks each to support its economic research activities.
The building shared space with other financial institutions and was therefore part of a larger network of economic specialists. Visitors should note that this was a historical institution and no longer exists in its original form.
Leadership fell to Dr. Carl Krämer from the Hamburg Economic Service, who focused on trade monopolies and currency matters. His work differed from other contemporary approaches through its emphasis on practical trade issues.
