Kloster Sankt Zeno Reichenhall, Augustinian monastery in Bad Reichenhall, Germany

The monastery complex includes a large church with marble portals, decorated keystones, and a Romanesque cloister built in the late 12th century.

Founded in 803 by Archbishop Arno of Salzburg, the monastery started as a monastic cell and was re-established in 1136 as an Augustinian canonical foundation.

The Augustinian canons managed all churches in the Reichenhall Valley and parishes in Pillerseetal, Kössen, Kirchdorf, Inzell, and Reit im Winkl.

The church and cloister are accessible through guided tours, allowing visitors to examine the architectural features and historical elements of the complex.

Until the 16th century, the monastery owned salt pans at the Reichenhall saltworks, which represented its primary source of income.
