Bahnbetriebswerk München-Pasing, Railway depot in Pasing, Germany
The Bahnbetriebswerk München-Pasing is a railway maintenance facility in western Munich that handles repairs and servicing of trains for regional services. The site includes workshop halls with tracks where trains are inspected, cleaned, and restored to operational condition.
The facility was established in 1941 and replaced the previous depot located at Munich Central Station. It survived World War II without damage and became the primary maintenance center for the region's growing rail network.
The depot represents railway expertise that has been central to Munich's transport system, with skilled workers dedicating themselves to keeping trains running smoothly. This tradition of maintenance and care remains visible in how the facility operates today as a hub for the region's rail services.
The facility sits west of Pasing station and is visible from the surrounding area. Most of the working areas are restricted to railway staff, though visitors can observe some of the exterior structure and building forms from nearby vantage points.
In 2017, a modern vehicle hall with five tracks opened on the eastern side of the grounds, significantly expanding the facility's capacity. This expansion reflects how railway operations continue to evolve to meet growing passenger service demands.
