Berlin-Rahnsdorf station
Berlin-Rahnsdorf station, Railway station in Treptow-Köpenick, Germany
Berlin-Rahnsdorf station features two platforms with preserved architecture elements and connects to the Berlin S-Bahn network through dedicated railway tracks.
The station commenced operations on May 15, 1879, and underwent substantial reconstruction between 1899 and 1902 under the direction of architect Karl Cornelius.
The station building maintains its protected status as a German cultural heritage monument, preserving architectural elements from the early twentieth century.
Passengers can access tram line 87, bus routes 161 and N61, with the station offering ticket machines, bicycle parking, and an elevator for platform access.
A railway accident in 1916 resulted in the death of 19 women performing track maintenance, leading to changes in safety protocols for railway workers.
