Karow railway station

The station features four platform tracks at the intersection of the non-electrified Parchim-Neustrelitz, Güstrow-Meyenburg, and Wismar-Karow railway lines.

Opening on December 5, 1882, the station marked the inauguration of the railway line from Güstrow to Wendisch Priborn, creating a strategic bypass around Lake Plauer See.

Twelve structures within the railway complex, including two water towers and the main building, represent important examples of late 19th-century German railway architecture.

The station operates under DB Station&Service, maintaining connections to surrounding areas through regular train services and strategic transport links.

During the 1970s and 1980s, the station handled approximately 20 passenger trains and 50 freight trains daily, marking its peak operational period.
